Meet Dr. Michael Gallinger
My Path to Chiropractic
Growing up, Dr. Gallinger suffered far too long from painful health issues. “I just wish my parents knew about chiropractic when I was a kid…I grew up with severe back pain and growing pains. I honestly thought it was just normal for everyone to hurt all the time. I grew up in a time period where most parents did not even think of chiropractic as a viable option of treatment for children. Luckily, now we know that chiropractic is valuable for all ages, even newborns.”
Changing His Own Life Path
His chronic pain continued throughout his young life, until he learned about chiropractic from a classmate in college. “Like most college kids, I was not sure what my future would hold. I was finishing a biochemistry degree when a lab partner mentioned that he was going to be a chiropractor. I was intrigued by this and checked it out.”
“The philosophy of chiropractic instantly made sense to me. I decided to seek out treatment. I received a significant amount of relief from all of my chronic pain and knew that this was the profession for me,” says Dr. Gallinger. He chose Northwestern Health Sciences University in Bloomington, Minnesota for his chiropractic education, and graduated Magna Cum Laude.
Outside the Office
Although chiropractic is Dr. Gallingers’ greatest passion, he also makes time to enjoy a well-balanced lifestyle, and counts jogging, weight training, and playing hockey among his hobbies. He also loves to stay healthy by practicing what he preaches.
“I receive chiropractic care on a regular basis. I like to get adjusted weekly. I work out 4-5 times a week. I do a variety of exercise including weight training, p90x, jogging, exercise ball and hockey. I have eliminated wheat, dairy and soy from my diet. I also try to restrict caffeine and alcohol from my diet. I feel so much healthier because of these choices.”
An avid learner, Dr. Gallinger also enjoys reading books and watching documentaries on his favorite topics including history, nutrition, psychology, spirituality, human performance, and quantum physics.
